What is Kits for Kids?

Kits for Kids - What's that??

We all know how difficult it is for football teams to get high quality kit and training equipment. It often involves sourcing sponsorship and finding suitable kit within a small budget. Well, if this sounds familiar, we think you might like Kits for Kids in association with the Daily Record and Sunday Mail.

Kits for Kids in association with the Scottish Youth Football Association is our initiative to support grassroots youth football in Scotland.

Kits for Kids? How??
If you are a Youth football team in Scotland, affiliated to the SYFA or a school team in Scotland, you can participate in the promotion. Other terms and conditions will apply, but basically if you meet those points, you are eligible. Oh, and only 400 teams can participate on a first come - first served basis. We are also limiting it to a maximum of two teams per club. So get your skates on!

Excellent. What's involved??
For the ten-week duration of the promotion, we will print special tokens every day in the Daily Record and Sunday Mail. You and your team-mates simply collect them. It really is as easy as that.

What exactly can we get??
We have teamed up with Italian kit maker Errea, to bring you brand name goods from a top quality manufacturer. We have structured the collection packages so that there's something for everyone. We'll kit out your 7 a side squad (7 – 11 yr olds) with training gear for 10 team members including a goalkeeper's kit and if you are an 11 a side team (12-21 yr olds) we'll kit out 16 players, including a goalkeeper's kit. If you need something in particular you can collect for that; or if you need everything, it can be yours! Once you get your team mates, friends, family and colleagues on board you will see just how achievable the packages are to collect for.

How do I pick what my team wants??
When your Team Secretary registers successfully you will automatically generate your own team homepage. You will then be given four collection packages from which to choose. You can only choose one of these packages. The package you choose however can be subject to change at a later date depending on how your collection goes over the ten weeks, so don't worry if you find yourself falling short of what you hoped for. Similarly if you find your collection going swimmingly, you will be able to upgrade to a higher spec package. After you pick your collection package, you will be given a choice of colours and sizes. When you pick these, this will help us cut lead times at the end of the promotion. And that's it! For the meantime anyway. Collect the required amount of tokens in the Daily Record and Sunday Mail and your chosen package will be yours. We must point out though that the specified amount of required tokens is absolute and final. No exceptions will be made for any shortcomings.

Got it. When does all this start??
Registration for the promotion opens 8am on Saturday February 27, 2010 and will close at 10am on Monday March 1, 2010. Once your application has been verified we will let you know in a couple of days if you have been successful. The promotion will run for ten weeks starting on Saturday March 13, 2010, and eligible tokens will be printed everyday in the Daily Record and Sunday Mail for the following ten weeks.

Ten weeks collecting tokens?? That will be a lot!
At the end of the promotion you must print out a copy of your order from the Kits for Kids website and send this in to us together with your tokens. We would suggest you use registered delivery when posting. These will be counted and verified.

How can I communicate this to all my team's players??
We learned from last year's Kits for Kids promotion that for you to succeed in this promotion you will have to get everyone in your club on board and get them collecting. This proved to be the most challenging part of the team's collection, so we will do all we can to help you. In your welcome pack, you'll get 3 posters to put up at your local church or community hall. We will also give you 3 stickers to stick onto collection boxes that you can put in local shops or businesses.

So make sure you kick off your collection with a flying start!

Sounds fantastic. I want to participate.
If you're eligible, then get cracking. Make sure your Team Secretary or coach registers all necessary details on this website, between 8am on Saturday February 27, 2010 and will close at 10am on Monday March 1, 2010. On successful registration, we will post out a welcome pack to your team. And that's you ready to take part in Kits for Kids in association with the Daily Record and Sunday Mail.
